The Vineyard Tour Oregon Road Bike Rides [OPEN]
The Vineyard Tour Bike Ride is Scheduled for September 5, 2021
The Umpqua Velo Club Board and the Vineyard Tour Committee have decided that the Vineyard Tour Bike Ride will take place the Sunday before Labor Day, September 5, 2021. This decision is based on current projections of COVID-19 vaccine availability, vaccination schedules and current advice of health authorities. If this information changes significantly, the Umpqua Velo Club will reassess our decision and proceed accordingly. You will be kept informed.
Our highest priority is the health and wellness of our volunteers, partners, sponsors, riders, and the people of the Umpqua Valley communities. Our goal is to provide the quality ride and the enjoyable event that you have come to expect together with precautions and protocols consistent with the safety of all participants and volunteers.
To this end, we are redesigning our registration and check-in procedures, our ride guidelines, our rest stop procedures, and our food and drink offerings during the ride to assure maximum rider and volunteer safety. We have also redesigned all the tour routes and incorporated suggestions provided by riders in past years post ride surveys.
We have eliminated the after-ride food and drink offerings due to the inability to provide these services in our traditional communal setting. Instead, we will provide a listing of participating local breweries and restaurants for your enjoyment and vouchers to partially offset the cost of food and drink at those locations.
We anticipate that on-line ride registration will begin on "The Vineyard Tour" website in May. If you have remaining vouchers from the cancelled 2020 ride those will be honored. Keep up-to-date by reading the FAQ's on the website or ask a question by utilizing the "Contact" tab.
We are not requiring COVID-19 vaccinations to participate in the ride, but ask that if you have not been vaccinated that you maintain proper distance from other riders. All riders will be required to wear masks when not actually riding.
We are very much looking forward to a great 2021 Vineyard Tour Bike Ride and we hope you are too. In the meantime, ride safely, take precautions, and keep well.
Online Registration is NOW OPEN for 2021

The Umpqua Velo Club Roseburg
The goal of the Vineyard Tour is a fund-raiser for the Umpqua Velo Club. The Umpqua Velo Club uses this money to promote safe bicycle riding, and clean air, community bicycle activities, safety, skill, education, defense and protection of the rights and responsibilities of cyclists and the recognition and promotion of bicycles as vehicles for pleasure, health and transportation.
The purpose of the Umpqua Velo Club is to promote bicycle riding and Historically, we have used these funds for benefits to the community. Our largest and most long-lasting effort has been to help what was originally called the Step-Up Program at Roseburg High School. The club has purchased 20 quality road bikes for the school, purchased parts to keep them running properly, performed the repair work, and provided instruction and guidance to get the at-risk youth riding. Surprisingly 40% of these kids had never ridden a bike before. The program was revised to ActivEd last year, and has now moved to Rose School.
We also work with the VA Administration with education and getting veterans out riding bikes.
We still need volunteers for Sunday September 5th at Rest Stops for cyclists.
"Rode the half century route yesterday at the Vineyard Tour. The Umpqua Velo Club did a nice job and they had a record turnout! Awesome! And to top it off, we finished the ride with delicious food from Big D's Shreading BBQ! Great job Darrin!
